Higher Education

Welcome to The English School's Higher Education pages.

Here you are provided with information to help you plan your immediate future after leaving the School.

Before leaving the School, however, you first need to decide what it is you would like to study.  One way to do this is to visit the School LRC which can provide you with a number of resources to help you make that decision and to help match your A-Levels to your choice of course.  Another way to help you decide is to take the Stamford Test http://www.ucas.com/students/beforeyouapply/whattostudy/stamfordtest.  The Stamford Test is a short questionnaire run by UCAS which can help to match your interests and abilities to possible higher education subjects.  Please see Mrs Natasha Ashiotis if you would like more information.

You will find advice on the UCAS process and can visit the UCAS website to find out about courses and entry requirements at UK universities, as well as to register your application.

You will find a selection of links to UK Universities that are a popular choice with English School pupils. The website of each university should include the most up-to-date information and the School Library Resource Centre (LRC), also stocks printed prospectuses for all the major universities. To view a list of Careers Resources available in the LRC click on this link.

The American Universities link will provide you with opening hours and contact numbers for the Fulbright Commission in Nicosia, as well as links to some of the Ivy League universities.

You can read about the experiences of your fellow pupils at interview and you can describe how your own interview went by filling in our questionnaire. For those of you interviewing at Cambridge or Oxford, please click on the link.

Visit the Career News section of our School's website to keep informed of upcoming School presentations and meetings, as well as Education Fairs and University visits.

More and more top universities are introducing admission tests for various courses. It is the responsibility of each pupil to refer to the website of the university or universities that they have applied, to ensure that they are aware of any specific entry requirements.
