Examination Dates:
Year One Entry
The English School, Nicosia, will hold Entrance Examinations for entry to the School on Saturday 6st April 2013. Registrations to sit the examinations will begin on March 19th and end on Friday 29th March.
Subjects:
Year 1 Greek- Cypriot candidateswill be examined in Greek and Mathematics.
Year 1 Native English candidates will be examined in English and Mathematics.
Year 1Turkish- Cypriot candidateswill be examined in Turkish and Mathematics.
Candidates taking either the Greek or Turkish papers will subsequently be required to take an English diagnostic paper to determine whether the accepted candidates will be required to attend extra English lessons during their first year. The score of that test will not be considered in the final score but all candidates must sit this paper so correct placement is ensured.
Candidates taking the English paper will be required to take a Greek or Turkish language diagnostic test. This diagnostic test is designed to place accepted candidates at their appropriate level for Greek/Turkish language lessons.

Applications for Form 1 entry will be accepted, at the school, in person, from Tuesday March 19h until Friday 29th March 2013.You can download an application form by clicking here. The completed application forms must be accompanied by a copy of the candidate's birth certificate and two recent passport-size photographs of the candidate. You will be required to pay a fee of 120 Euros on lodging your application in person, at the school. Applications will be accepted from 8.00-1.30 p.m. from 19-29 March inclusive. Cheques should be made payable to ‘The English School.’
Mid-Programme entries for a small number of places in Years 2-4 and Year 6.
Applications for entry into Forms 2, 3, 4 and 6 will be accepted at the school from 8th-31st May 2013. You can download an application form by clicking here. The completed form must be accompanied by a copy of the candidate’s birth certificate, two recent passport- sized photographs and copies of the candidate’s school reports from the past two years. You will be required to pay a fee of 120 Euros on lodging your application, in person, at the school. Applications will be accepted from 8th-31st May inclusive. All Mid Programme Entry candidates for Forms 2, 3 and 4will be examined in English and Mathematics on 17th June 2013 at the school. All candidates will be required to take a Greek or Turkish diagnostic paper. It is an attainment test designed to place accepted candidates at the appropriate level for Greek/Turkish lessons. The score of that test will not be considered in the final score but all candidates must sit this paper so correct placement is ensured. Parents will be informed in writing if their child is offered a place.
Candidates for Forms 6 will be examined and interviewed on Monday 17th June at the school. Candidatesare accepted subject to their performance on 17th June and satisfactory IGCSE/GCSE results in the required subjects, (a minimum of 6 passes, grade B and above.) Parents will be informed in writing if their child is offered a conditional place. This acceptance can only be confirmed after the external examination results are published in August. Acceptance is also subject to available places in the requested 'A' Level subject groups.
