The English School celebrates 3 year high at A Level

The English School Nicosia is pleased to announce that the School’s level of academic achievement places it in the top 10% of UK schools and colleges entering students for A Level subjects over the last 3 years.

This is based on the measure used by many UK schools (including the top independent schools) to calculate the value added to the learning of students at A Level (Advanced Level Performance Systems, or ALPS). This means that in comparison with other UK schools, and in relation to the value added to the academic attainment of students, the students of English School outperformed 90% of UK schools at A Level in the period 2009-2011. This is as a result of the commitment and hard work of both teachers and support staff and, of course, the students themselves.

Commenting on the results, the school’s Head Teacher, Mr. Graham Gamble, said:  ‘These results, comparing favourably with those in independent and state schools and colleges in the UK, reflect the significant value we are adding to our students’ achievements. Such excellent performance is testimony to the consistent hard work of our students and the staff and parents who support them.’
