Back To The Stage
Every time the world closed down during Covid-19 music didn’t stop, we continued. Through recordings and live stream performances, we stayed together as musicians, with an ultimate wish to continue sharing what brings the most meaning and light into our lives – music. At the first live performance of the London Symphony Orchestra in more than a year, Sir Simon Rattle said “We need joy… and an audience”.
On the 24th of June, our first return to the concert hall - Back to the Stage - was an experience all of us in the music community have learnt never to take for granted again. A blue curtain behind us, audience applause, a program with 10 performances from students in all year groups (Peiqi Song, Sophia Kleopa, Ara Mahdessian, Andreas Marcou, Andreas Nicolaou, Beihong Lin, Anna Monoyiou, Constantinos Hadjiprocopiou, Eleonora Savvidou). And for us, Year 7s, a wonderful way to end our journey as English School students. From me and my cello, it’s a see you soon.
