Where to find help
Where to find help
- The Heads of Year can be found in the Pastoral Centres.
- The Pastoral Centre for Years 1 and 2 (Ms Maro Polydorou) can be found in Lloyds, upstairs near the staff room.
- Some of the Pastoral Centres have white letter boxes outside where you can leave a note if you would like to speak to a teacher. Maybe you are worried about your workm or you are being bullied, or you have concerns about a fellow student... You can also put a note under the door, or in your Head of Year's pigeon hole in the staff room.
- You can also speak to your form teacher about any concerns you have, or to a subject teacher, or the Senior Teacher in charge of Pastoral Care (Ms Antigoni Kiliari). The Senior Teacher in charge of Pastoral Care has an office upstairs between the office of Mr Panayiotou and the Board Room.
Bullying Information
The UK National Childline website suggests the following ideas about bullying...
Here are some ideas about how you can deal with bullying. Think about your situation, and what options might be best for you.
- Don't ignore bullying - it won't go away on its own and it may get worse.
- Tell someone you trust - such as a teacher, parent or friend
- Remember, it's not your fault. No one deserves to be bullied.
Here are some other things you might want to think about:
- Keep a record - and save any nasty texts or emails that you have been sents.
- Try to stay away from the bullies or stay a group when you don't feel safe.
- Ask your mates to look out for you.
- Try not to retaliate - you could get into trouble or get hurt.
- Try to act more confident - even if you don't feel it.
You can also look on the Childline website for information sheets on bullying for pupils, parents, for advice and true stories and for helpful advice on all sorts of issues.
