The 12th National Session of EYP Cyprus took place between the 28th August - 1st September 2018 around the main theme EU 2.0: Post Europe and the aftermath of the crisis.

Here is what our delegates this year have to say:

“It was such an incredible experience for me. I feel like I came back as a different person than who I went as. I met so many amazing people from around the world and got the chance to work with them and collaborate on our resolutions, sharing our unique personalities and thoughts. I am constantly amazed at how much fun every session can be and they keep getting better every time! EYP has offered me so many opportunities and has opened doors for me that I believe I will keep unlocking in the future” -Anthi Papouli

“This whole experience has been emotional for me in all the right ways. I met intelligent and well-rounded delegates, fun and supportive roommates with whom I made the most unforgettable memories with and laughed the hardest. EYP is truly a community as well as a platform, connecting people from different backgrounds, that I wouldn’t have met if it weren’t for EYP, forming friendships that last a lifetime” -Androniki Charalambos

“EYP for me was an amazing experience. I got to bond quickly with people through various fun activities, while being in a room filled with young people like myself who share the same worries and concerns about current problems and affairs inspired me. Together we found solutions, debated and compromised. I met so many people from all over Cyprus and abroad. I will hold on to these friendships and memories we made” -Athina Stavrou

“Joining EYP and attending the National Session this year was an extremely eye-opening experience, which I feel marked the start of a very important journey in my life” -Cleopatra Pierides

“It was truly a unique and unforgettable experience. The way I bonded with 11 people in just 4 days was exhilarating and despite the lack of sleep I would do it all over again in a heart beat!” -Emily Vrahimi

“EYP was an incredible experience from the team building activities with leaders that tried to twist you in every way possible (quite literally) and push you out of your comfort zone, to the friendly and positive atmosphere in the general assembly. EYP is something unique as it goes beyond conventional debating or discussions on politics, it is a strong loving community which I am now so glad to be part of” -Leonie Kallis

Delegates from the English School were chosen to represent Cyprus in the 88th International Session of the EYP that will take place from 13 to 21 October 2018 in Rotterdam. The theme of the session is "Discovering Global Europe". Participants will explore the role of Europe in a dynamic global context, but also how global pressures affect internal European Affairs. They also get the opportunity to explore Rotterdam as a gateway between Europe and the rest of the world. Lastly, participants discover what role they can play in social, economic and political issues they care about.

Our six delegates from year 6, Anthi, Androniki, Athena, Cleopatra, Emily and Leonie will start their journey at school as Chairs. For a period of four months they will lead, guide, train and be the buddies/advisors of all the younger new EYPers from year 4 and 5.

Congratulations to all our EYP team and let the journey continue!
