Congratulations to Hryachya Zakaryan 7W and Stelios Sycalides 5W for being selected to represent Cyprus in the World Astrophysics Olympiad in November.

On Sunday 24th September 2017 students all over Cyprus took part in the 5th National Astrophysics Olympiad. The paper consisted of challenging questions covering many areas of astrophysics. Hrachya and Stelios are both extremely passionate about astrophysics.  They studied for this Olympiad independently as most of the topics are not included in the IGCSE or A-Level physics syllabus.

The paper was written in Greek, and we are working with the Cyprus Physics Association to have it translated to English next year, to allow greater access to our students.

We are so proud of our students, they both came third. A fantastic accomplishment!
