Gala Evening of the Arts
'Creativity will be the currency of the 21st century' - a message which was received loud and clear by all present at the Gala Evening of the Arts on Tuesday 21st February in the School Hall.
Over 80 students took to the stage in a spectacular display of teamwork, camaraderie and self expression. The school orchestra, under the direction of Leonie Hadjithoma opened the evening with two impressive pieces, followed by our "quartet for 5" playing the popular tango "Por una cabeza".
Highlights of the award-winning broadway musical "Jersey Boys" followed, including a dramatic scene by the GCSE drama group directed by Athena Agrotis. The Senior Choir and Jazz Band, under the guidance of Anna Tellalis, Argyro Christodoulides and with the participation of trumpet teacher Gareth Griffiths brought the evening to a close with a medley of songs made popular by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.
A display and sale of artwork and masks, organised by Carol Syrimis, accompanied the reception.
Thanks to all those behind the scenes, ESPA and all our parents for their continued support.
Congratulations to all involved for a truly inspiring evening.
