iGeo - Cyprus National Team

The entire 4-member Cyprus National team representing Cyprus at the 14^th i Geo in Belgrade Serbia from the 2^nd to the 8^th of August was made up of English School Students.

The Team members were  
1) Savvas Marcou                              Year 7 geography student
2) Andreas Stylianou                       Year 7 geography student
3) Charalambos Ioannou                Year 7 geography student
4) Athena Eftychiou                         Year 6 geography student
 
These students won the national competition and were awarded prizes by the Cyprus Geographical Association and the Ministry of Education.
 
In fact the Ministry of Education in recognition of the success of our three students from the previous year who won two Silver and one Bronze medals at the 13^th I Geo competition in Beijing  China paid for all the travel costs of this year’s delegation.
 
At a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education on the  26^th of June, the Minister of Education awarded the students, teachers and The English School, certificates for their achievements.
 
This year Savvas Marcou and Andreas Stylianou won two bronze medals. Charalambos and Athena narrowly missed the medals.
 
We are looking forward to this year’s national competition and hoping to represent Cyprus at the 15^th I Geo to be held in Quebec, Canada.
