Trip to Granada Spain Feb 2019

​We learn best when we can see, hear, and experience things first hand.

Multi-sensory learning is an important part of school life, and school trips answer the requirements of all five senses since living in another country is the best way to learn the language. Contributing to society begins with an understanding of the world in which we live, including the languages, values and cultures of different societies which students learn first-hand when putting their learning into real-life practice.

During the Spanish trip a new world of learning was revealed to the students since we could tour and visit amazing places like the Alhambra, and also learn the language as well as understand the culture. This experience really helped us use every single Spanish word in our vocabulary since few people knew how to speak English. In the end, we could easily communicate and have a basic dialogue with the locals, which proves that the trip was a big success.

The different foods, architecture and people made us love the subject even more because the trip enabled us to see what “was hidden” behind the language, in a country with so much to offer. The trip definitely ignited our passion for learning Spanish and gave every student the chance to learn about new environments at their own pace, without having to worry about any exams or test scores, which is always very important at the end of the day.

We will always remember this experience, which gave us the chance to visit places where we might choose to study later on at University.
