One-Day Studies, held on Saturday, 6th May 2017 from 8.30 to 6.30 at the University of Nicosia. A fantastic panel of speakers. 

One-Day Studies organised by Dr Eva Polyviou in cooperation with Dr Aspasia Skouroumouni-Stavrinou (University of Cyprus).

Under the auspices of the Minister of Education Dr K. Kadis and supported by the Cyprus Institute of Education.

The English School is amongst the sponsors. 

It will be held on Saturday, 6 May 2017 –  8:30-18:30 at the University of Nicosia

Specialists in the field of Classics (academics/teachers/researchers/ artists) from Cyprus and Greece will be presenting their ideas about the role of Classics in Cyprus Secondary Education and the improvement of the teaching of classics’ subjects.
Amongst all the speakers, three of the Teachers will be from The English School:

  • Ms Efie Demosthenous in co-operation with Year 7 Classical Greek students, “The Teaching of Classical Greek in an English School”
  • Ms Maro Polydorou, “The Teaching of Greek and Latin Epic: Homer’s Odyssey and Iliad, Vergil’s Aeneid
  • Dr Eva Polyviou, “The Teaching of Ancient History in a Modern School: Challenges and Perspectives”.
The One-Day studies is mainly addressed to Secondary Education teachers, but everybody interested in Classics is welcome.
