Entry into Year 1

General Information

English Speakers:

The entrance examinations in Mathematics and the candidates’ Native Language (English) are based on the primary school syllabuses and UK National Curriculum. The Non-Verbal Reasoning test is a standard secondary entry tool used by schools world-wide.

There will be a diagnostic test in Greek or Turkish language.  Students may be required to follow additional courses in Greek/Turkish when the academic year begins.  The mark is not included in calculating the passing mark.

The English School reserves the right in each examination cycle to test the knowledge and ability of candidates in any way the School deems appropriate.

Greek Speakers:

The Mid-Programme entry into Year 2 consists of a Mathematics exam and an English Exam, based on the UK National Curriculum. The Non-Verbal Reasoning test is a standard secondary entry tool used by schools world-wide.

Additionally, there will be consideration of a student's previous school report and performance in an interview, in order to further access suitability for a place at The English School.
