Based
Learning
Year 1 students have once again pro-
duced wonderful projects on the
theme “My School” through their
learning experiences in 7 different
subject areas.
Project Based Learning is the school’s
progressive initiative through which
students explore a common theme
across different subjects. Recognising
that our minds are not separated into
separate sections for each subject,
PBL ensures that education is holistic
and learning experiences highlight
the connections and common skills
between different disciplines
This year’s Year 1 students produced
creative models and maps of their
school, posters of historic monu-
ments and timelines, designed
clocks, emblems and instruments
with which to perform music and
presentations on the theme, and
conducted research into the life of
the school in the past. Their work
was displayed around the school
when they returned after exams so
that they could take pride in their
achievements and share each others’
project ideas.
