A NAME ON EVERYTHING
: books, exercise books, files, PE bags, sweatshirts, etc.
There are always items belonging to students which stay in the lost property area –
unclaimed. Why? Because
Students are often slow to chase them up – or don’t bother.
It is impossible for us to return items if we don’t know who the owner is.
Depending on where a student thinks an item was lost, he/she should see the General
Secretary in the Main Office at the side of reception.
Special information about the PE/Games Area is given in another section by the PE
Department.
GOOD COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS
Effective Communication between school and home is essential. It should be easy, but in
practice we find that our student-post system often breaks down, with some school
letters lying forgotten and tatty at the bottom of school bags. In most cases letters are
emailed to Parents.
May we suggest:
That parents agree with their child where all school hard copy communication is
placed e.g. in a coloured plastic folder
That parents check the agreed place fairly often
That parents check the section –
Messages home
in the Student Handbook.
SOME IMPORTANT SCHOOL RULES AND PROCEDURES
UNIFORM
Parents are requested to help their children to keep to our dress code.
(Please refer to the relevant document in this guide).
For example, if children “assure” their parents that “everyone is wearing trainers” or “no
one wears a school jacket” …… parents are asked to take that with a pinch of salt because
we assure you that “everyone” isn’t !!
CODE OF CONDUCT
There is an English School CODE OF CONDUCT that all students are expected to adhere to.
(Please refer to the relevant document in this guide).
