15-year old, Alex Dzaghigian of 4 Green has managed something incredible using his talent!  His drawing was selected from amongst 880,000 other submissions from 81 countries at the 10th World Toyota Dream Car Contest.

Alex’s hard work was rewarded by first winning the local drawing competition organized by Dickran Ouzounian Company, the official representative of Toyota in Cyprus.  This gave him the ticket to participate in the 10th World Contest in Japan.

In this competition, Alex’s drawing: Amelioration Octopus made a powerful impact and he succeeded in gaining the “Best Finalist” award, winning 4th place.

In a previous interview, Alex said that the octopus symbolized creativity, the will to change, the unexplained and pure power. He further adds that it represents the improvement of the social environment and global infrastructure through the elimination of pollution, which is the main cause of poverty, despair, poor health and lack of resources.  His work of art is inspired by the hope that the world will become a better place.
This has been a unique experience for him. The Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan were so impressed by Alex that they decided to shoot a documentary dedicated to him!

A film crew from Japan came to our School yesterday, to film the documentary: “Dreams” which will include highlights from the everyday life of Alex, including at home and school.
The documentary will be included in places of interest in Cyprus, such as the Limassol Marina, Lefkara village etc. promoting not only his School but Cyprus Internationally.
We expect the documentary will be released in June/July 2017.

The above article is an adaptation of that written by a journalist from ant1iwo, who came to the school to cover his story.  Click  here and see what Alex himself had to say.
