The 2022 FIBA Women's European Championship for Small Countries was the 17th edition of this completion and took place in Nicosia, Cyprus, from the 28th June to the 3rd July 2022.

The participating teams were from Andorra, Cyprus, Kosovo, Malta and Norway.  Cyprus secured first place gaining the Gold Medal-, making Cyprus very proud.

On the 26th July, Ms Annitta Demetriou at the Parliament awarded and congratulated the team for their success at the FIBA Women's European Championship for Small Countries.

We are very proud of our student, now graduate, Elia Melissa Kasinis.  She was the youngest player to participate in the Cyprus National Women's Team and to participate in the FIBA Women's European Championship for small countries.   She joined The English School in September 2015 with continuous outstanding academic results.  As her Form Tutors Ms S Jamgochian and Mr G Papageorgiou stated, she is a mature, hardworking and target-oriented individual. Despite the pressures of being in Year 7, she continued to be committed to her A-Level studies; however, she also trained strenuously  at the Club Keravnos Strovolou daily  and participated in games during the weekends.  As Captain of her team, they managed to win both the Cup and Championships for Under 18s this year – A double win!

Congratulations Elia!  Keep up the good work.  We are very proud of you!
