The English School Girls' Football Team Shines in Busy Easter Period
After a triumphant Easter tournament in Ayia Napa, The English School Girls’ Football Team continued their impressive run of form by competing in the APOEL Tournament at Pascal International School on Thursday, 24th April. Facing elite teams such as Pafos FC, APOEL, and Omonoia, our girls rose to the challenge, showcasing incredible hard work, teamwork, and raw talent.
Although the first two results did not fall in our favour, the team ended on a high, earning a well-deserved 1–1 draw against Omonoia thanks to a dramatic last-minute goal from Marina Loizou. Their performance earned widespread praise from spectators and participants alike, rounding off a memorable Easter period.
The girls’ busy schedule continued with a swift return to action in the CFA Girls U15 Championship on Saturday, 26th April. Despite the heavy run of eight matches in just 12 days, the team showed unwavering courage and determination, claiming a hard-fought 2–0 victory over Lakatamia FC. Goals from Kyveli Matsi and Charitini Iosif secured all three points, further underlining the team's resilience and quality.
Looking ahead, the girls will face ALS Omonoia Lefkothea on Sunday, 4th May, in the final match of the championship. With spirits high and momentum on their side, the team will be aiming to cap off a fantastic season with another strong performance and a winning finish.
