The Biology department would like to congratulate our 6th Form student, Leonie Kalli, for receiving an honourable mention at the European DNA Day Essay Contest 2019 of the European Society of Human Genetics.

Her essay on ‘Why does gene editing work, and why are the expectations for this approach so high?’ impressed the members of the jury based on its originality, its scientific content and the fact that she expressed so clearly her views on gene editing.
