Congratulations to our F1 in Schools teams!

Congratulations to our students have made substantial progress in the F1 in schools World Finals, in Singapore 2018.

From a total of 50 teams, Slipstream, our Cyprus national winners of F1 in schools in March 2018, came a highly respectable 11^th and our Winners of the best Internatıonal Team award, Arıon came 16^th overall. The Collaboration team involved 3 students from The English School, Nicosia and 3 students from The Greek German School, Athens.

The one second barrier was broken by the Australians who were world champions 0.997 second, Slipstream had a time of 1.071 seconds and Arion 1.043 seconds. what separates teams is hundredths and thousandths of a second, and we are extremely close to breaking the one second barrier. This is our aim, to refine the minute details through scientific analysis of materials, measuring acceleration and refining mechanical production techniques in order to break into the elite group who have touch the one second record.
 
This is a truly a great achievement for our students, who have competed for only the 3^rd year in this prestigious STEM competition, in contrast to other schools which have been involved for many years building up their resources and their sponsors.
 
We, The English School, are an upcoming force in the competition and we hope to refine and adapt the way our teams are set up and improve even further next year.
