World Refugee Day 2020
On June 20th Alexia Vasileiou and guests from all around the world came together during an online concert to support World Refugee Day. Through many inspiring performances and stories they all stood for acceptance, respect and dignity towards refugees and asylum seekers.
The English School Choir, with special guests Alex Panayi ESL 88 and Alexia, joined this special event with their emotional performance of ‘Stand By Me’. Special thanks to Yiangos Kleopas 5Y for the video editing, Andreas Iacovides ESL 78 for joining the bass section, former choir members for their enthusiastic participation, and Adonis Aletras ESL 85 for the music production.
Two of our talented Year 1 students, India Olympia Pattichis (1J) and Jayden Maroun (1R), also contributed to this very special event.
India Olympia recited a powerful poem she wrote in honor of the day, and Jayden performed a heartfelt piece on the piano in his expressive virtuosic style.
