Once again outstanding results obtained by our students at the Science-FACTOR Competition on Friday, 30th of September.

On Friday the 30th of September, five English School students, Christos Fala, Antria Nicolaou, Christina Constantinides, Nihal Sogandji and Lucas James Irwin participated in the “Science-FACTOR” Competition as part of the 10th Annual Researcher’s Night at Filoxenia Conference Centre.

The students were asked to prepare a 3 minute speech in which they aimed to describe a specific scientific phenomenon to a panel of judges and their fellow competitors. The primary objective of this task was to ensure that their explanations were structured in a manner comprehensible to high school students, maintaining clarity throughout.

Rigorous standards of competition faced our students, with 42 total competitors taking part. Our students performed exceptionally, each receiving a certificate for their participation.

Lucas James Irwin of 5 White received 1st prize for his presentation, simply titled “Antimatter”. He will be travelling to Romania in late March for the international competition.

Other students chose topics ranging from enzymes to apples, all receiving positive remarks from each of the judges.

This was a fantastic opportunity for all students involved. Keep an eye out for Science-FACTOR next year!

Many thanks to our Physics Teacher, Ms. Maria Christodoulou who trained the students in preparation for the competition.
