Y6 and Y7 Students Excel at International Biomedicine Olympiad
Earlier this academic year, some of our Year 6 and Year 7 Biology students took the initiative to participate in the 1st International Biomedicine Olympiad (Biogenesis). This interdisciplinary Olympiad is directed towards those interested in biomedicine and its pathways and consists of an educational, voluntary, and recreational initiative.
Our students took part in the Olympiad and qualified for the second phase, where they went on to achieve several awards. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and achievements in Biogenesis and applaud their dedication to their studies and passion for the subject.
Year 6 students Xinyao Zhong, Yuanhong Xie, and Anupama Ashok received certificates in various categories. Xinyao Zhong achieved a gold certificate in the Cellular & Molecular Biology category and a silver certificate in the Anatomy and Physiology category. At the same time, Yuanhong Xie received a silver certificate in the Cellular & Molecular Biology category. Anupama Ashok earned a bronze certificate in the Anatomy and Physiology category and an honourable mention certificate in the Cellular & Molecular Biology category.
Year 7 student Theoklis Kouyialis had a phenomenal performance, achieving gold certificates in both the Cellular & Molecular Biology category and the Anatomy and Physiology category.
We commend all of our students who participated in Biogenesis and are proud of their remarkable achievements. Their success is a testament to their hard work and dedication to their studies, and we look forward to seeing them continue to excel in the future.
In conclusion, we are delighted to see our students taking initiative in events that enable them to showcase their talents, and we are honoured to have them represent our school on the global stage.
