Information about Classical Greek and Classical Civilization for 2017-2018

Information about choosing Classical Greek and Classical Civilization, for the next academic year 2017-2017.

Dear Parents and Students of Year 5
 
As a result of the recent curriculum review, Classical Greek has now been included in our students’ four main options.

This means that those students choosing to continue with Classical Greek need to include the subject as one of their four option choices. As happened with Classical Civilization last year, Classical Greek will be taught for 14 periods in Year 6 instead of the 8 periods which were allocated in the academic year 2016-2017, to bring it into line with other subjects.

For example a student choosing Classical Greek in Year 5 should enter their options as for example:

Classical Greek, History, Maths and Physics
Or if they are choosing Classical Civilization:

Art, Classical Civilization, English literature and Geography
Or if they are choosing both Classical Greek and Classical Civilization:

Biology, Chemistry, Classical Civilization and Classical Greek

All students will now have four A level options going from Year 5 to 6.
