The end of the Autumn term is here, this term marked some amazing achievements of our students.  Successful organized events, which was only possible to the contribution of our students, parents, ESPA and our staff.  As of January, a new Complaints Procedure will come into effect.  So take the time to read it, and wishing everyone a restful, relaxing, enjoyable and safe holiday season.

Dear Parents / Guardians,
The last few weeks of term have been extremely hectic with many notable events taking place celebrating and displaying the achievements of our students.  Recently, our students collected sixteen high achiever awards at the Pearson/Edexcel ceremony in Limassol, six of which were for gaining the highest mark in the world.  Nearly fifty of our students have also recently been interviewed for places at Oxford or Cambridge; we wish them well as they await the outcomes of these interviews.  In October, our F1 team “Blaze” qualified for the world finals in Texas for the first time. Just last week, the Junior Achievement competition stunned a packed hall with their innovation, creativity and business acumen.
Further examples of our students’ creativity were on show at several events namely, the “Unite” concert and the stunning performance of “The Addams Family”, providing a subtly alternative humour over two evenings. The most recent showcase was the vast array of ability displayed at the twentieth (or was it the twenty first!) “Talent Night” where audiences were treated to a wide and varied high quality programme. Let’s not forget “The “Penguin Parade” with amazing designs, all of course in aid of charity, which displays the generous nature of our community where we spare a thought for those less fortunate than ourselves and remember that Christmas is a season of good will to all.
To achieve all the above, it would not have been possible without the support and dedication of those staff who take a lead in and assist with our events and inspire our students to even greater heights; their efforts are greatly appreciated by our community. Gratitude must also be extended to ESPA who tirelessly support our events to enhance the overall experience.
I would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that we are implementing a new procedure to improve the effectiveness of parental access to the School with regard to issues of concern. A new Complaints Procedure will come into effect as of January 2017.  It is there to manage issues and ensure consistency of approach and is in line with best practice in high performing schools. A copy of the procedures that should be adhered to for all cases of concern will be posted on the website and I would ask that you spend a few minutes reading it to familiarise yourself with its contents.
Finally, with the advent of Christmas, and the completion of a very busy term at The English School, it is a time to reflect on the past year and the many blessings that we have received from our lives and the lives of our families and friends.
