Two of our language students recently had the unique opportunity to spend a day as an ambassador, shadowing two different diplomats to learn more about the profession and gain valuable insights into the day-to-day workings of an embassy.

Join us on May 3rd at Newham Building, room 11 (NB11) at 1.45 pm for an exciting lecture on studying in Spain. The European University in Madrid will speak about its entry requirements, programs, and admission process and even give a virtual campus tour.

On April 28th, the newly elected student leaders and members of the School Management visited the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia to explore the exhibition "Ball in the Center: Football - History - Nicosia". This exhibition explores the fascinating history of football in Nicosia and the vital role played by Canon Newham and The English School in its development on the island.

The results of the Pancyprian Athletics Schools Competition are in, and we are thrilled to announce the impressive achievements of our senior athletes.

On April 8th, the selection exam for the 19th Geographical Olympiad took place in Cyprus. The exam was a gruelling 3.5-hour process that tested students' knowledge and skills in geography. Among the participants were several students from The English School, including Giannis Agapiou, Iraklis Giorgallis, Daphne Stavrides, and Lily Makriyiannis.

During our Year 5 assembly yesterday, our students celebrated their successes in the recent Inter-House Athletics Competition. Medals were awarded to those who had achieved top places in various events, and the atmosphere was one of excitement and pride.

Our school's U15 Girls' Football Team recently participated in the Ayia Napa Tournament 2023, and their performance was nothing short of impressive. Despite facing tough competition, the girls displayed excellent teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

 

The Kangourou Mathematics Competition is an annual event that is designed to encourage and motivate students to learn and love mathematics. 

Our basketball team has shown incredible talent at the second showcase held on Monday, 10th April 2023. The event, which took place at our sports centre, saw 45 student-athletes from different schools compete.

 

We recently held our Annual Tennis Tournaments at our new tennis courts, and it was a successful event with a high standard of tennis on display. Mr Yiannos Ioannides, the Junior and Senior Tennis Clubs organiser, supervised the matches.

 

Our Arts and Crafts Club recently organized a day trip for its students to the CyHerbia Botanical Gardens in Avgorou. The trip was arranged with the purpose of giving the students a hands-on experience in soap making and a chance to explore the gardens and labyrinth.

 

Our Year 4 students are scheduled to have an Economics revision session on Saturday, 29th April, the first Saturday after the Easter break.
