In General
For project-based subjects (Art, DT, Music) the criteria is more holistic because of the nature of the subject. The best person to talk to for these subjects should be the HoD.

For other subjects, in general the criteria are:

Year groups with no external exam: the criteria is based on the EoY examinations
Year groups with an external exam: UMS scores
The number of awards allotted for each department depends on the size of the cohorts and therefore sometimes awards need to shift across year groups.
