Student Profile
Since the age of 9 it has been the ambition of Krini to act, and those of you who attended the English Play ‘Salem’ will have seen her compelling performance. Now in Year 3, she is working towards her IGCSE in Drama, practising her audition and performance skills, and has just completed the LAMBDA Grade 3 examination at Centre Stage Drama school in Nicosia.

Now in Year 3, she is working towards her IGCSE in Drama, practising her audition and performance skills, and has just completed the LAMBDA Grade 3 examination at Centre Stage Drama school in Nicosia.
Her aim is to study at Juilliard in New York, one of the most competitive music, dance and drama schools in the US, with an acceptance rate of only 7.2% . We wish Krini all the best in her endeavours and have no doubt that she will realise her dream .
‘Brilliant & Promising’ - February 2013
Five of our graduates have recently been featured in an article of the February edition of ‘InBusiness’ magazine entitled ‘Brilliant & Promising’:
Leonidas Aristodemou - (University of Cambridge, UK studying Engineering)
Demetris Drakos - (CALTEC, USA studying Electronic and Electrical Engineering)
Petra Koulia - (University of Oxford, UK studying Economics & Management)
Argyro Nicolaou - (University of Cambridge, UK studied English and now at Harvard, USA undertaking a PhD in Comparative Literature)
Stavros Skordis - (University of Cambridge, UK studying Architecture)
These five graduates form a small part of a very large group of successful ES graduates. Unsurprisingly, our graduates, upon finishing their University education, continue to be highly sought-after by businesses locally and often internationally.

World Maths Day - 14th March
There has been a tremendous response of schools to World Maths Day which falls on March 14th every year.
March 14th is the birthday of Albert Einstein, 3.14 (the American way of writing the date), also happens to be the approximation we use for π, when we divide the circumference of any circle by its diameter!
The challenge for this year was to set a world record in answering 10 million mental arithmetic questions by pupils playing against each other in real-time battles of mental arithmetic through the internet.
Schools from 98 countries were registered for this international event. In the UK alone there were more than one thousand schools taking part. It proved to be an incredibly exciting event and the total number of questions answered actually came to 38 904 275.
The English School ranked 3rd worldwide as having the highest school contribution and Mr Nikandrou's class, 1W, are to be congratulated in coming 2nd in the world for highest class contribution.
We will remember this date next year and we are determined to try even harder to beat the 2 leading schools from Hong Kong!
