Founder's Day Prize Criteria

As a good number of students are quite good in Greek, strict and specific criteria need to be taken into consideration. Apart from the academic aspect of their work, the students should be very attentive and energetic in class, respect their teachers and peers and have excellent conduct in general. They must fulfil the following criteria in order to be awarded prizes:
  1. They must show keen interest in the subject and appreciation of the set texts.
  2. They must work hard throughout the year. Students who start the year with a lower than the top grade but make remarkable progress afterwards, may be given an award.
  3. Excellent performance in the end-of-year exams but also in tests, projects and homework throughout the year may be rewarded.
  4. Excellent performance in GCSE or GCE AS exams may also be rewarded.
  5. Floaters who are keen in learning or improving their Greek and have convinced their teachers of this may be awarded a prize. Due to the large number of students, 29 prizes are given to Year 1-3 students and 1 to Years 5-6.
The Department reserves its right not to award any prizes to a particular year or set of students or to alter its criteria.
