Courses in the 6th and 7th Year
The examinations are taken through Edexcel, the University of London examination board.
All the courses are modular: 3 units are necessary for an AS award , 6 units for a single A- Level and 9 units for one and a half A - Levels.
All pupils in the 5th Year follow a Mathematics course and take the examination in the C1 unit at the end of the 5th Year.
For the pupils who will be continuing with Mathematics in the 6th Year, the school offers, where the demand justifies the formation of a set, courses based on the following combinations of units.

SINGLE A - LEVEL COURSES:
( 7 lessons per week in the 6th Year and 9 lessons per week in the 7th Year )
1. Pure Mathematics with Further Pure units: ( C1, C2, C3, C4, FP1, FP2 )
This course gives a good foundation in Mathematics for any course involving Mathematics. The content of the course corresponds closely to the Mathematics course offered at the state schools in Cyprus and should therefore be preferred by students contemplating studies at the University of Cyprus. It would also help students taking the American SAT examinations.
Recommended for students planning to follow university courses in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computing or Mathematics.
Pupils will take C2 and C3 at the end of the 6th Year and then C4, FP1 and FP2 at the end of the 7th Year.

2. Pure Mathematics with Mechanics units: ( C1, C2, C3, C4, M1, M2 )
Recommended for pupils planning to follow university courses in Architecture, Physics, or
Aeronautical / Civil / Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge of elementary Mechanics to IGCE Physics standard is a prerequisite for this course.

ONE AND A HALF A - LEVEL COURSES:
( 7 lessons per week in the 6th Year and 9 lessons per week in the 7th Year )
These courses are offered to pupils in the '1½ A-Level' sets who are able to follow the demanding pace of the 5th Year course in Mathematics, successfully. These pupils are expected to continue working at the same pace and standard up to Year 7. At the end of the 7th Year they will have acquired 1½ A- Levels in Mathematics.
Pupils in the '1½ A-level' sets will follow Pure Mathematics and choose between Mechanics or Statistics in order to complete 9 units.

TWO A-LEVEL COURSES:
(Timetable as two A-Levels) (14 lessons per week in the 6th Year and 18 lessons per week in the 7th Year)
The school is offering, starting from September 2010, the option to choose two A-Levels in Mathematics timetabled as 2. This is offered to the pupils who are in the One and a Half A-Level sets inYear 5. They will follow A-Level Mathematics (units C1-C4, M1, S1) and A-Level Further Mathematics (FP1, FP2, M2, M3, S2, S3), unless other variations are in demand. This course is designed for pupils who are very able in Mathematics and have decided that they will study in university a course using Mathematics.
AS - LEVEL COURSES:
Pupils who wish to study Mathematics up to the 6th Year only, will be awarded an AS certificate in Mathematics.
These pupils will take either C2 and C3 or C2 and S1 or C2 and M1 at the end of the 6th Year.
