IGCSE

IGCSE FRENCH & SPANISH
We are now living in a world of globalization and international relations. With the emergence of the EU as a strong world power, languages are fast becoming a necessity and not just an asset. Since the accession of Cyprus to the European Union, it has become vital for students to have a good knowledge of other European languages if they want to be competitive in their professional career.

Nowadays, many universities require good IGCSE grades in languages for entry to their degree courses. Furthermore, the ability to offer one or two languages will greatly enhance young people's value as potential employees in all fields, whether they intend to pursue a commercial, legal, political, scientific or any other professional career.
Finally, European universities offer Erasmus/Socrates programs whereby students go on exchange programs in other European universities during the course of their studies. It is obvious that prior knowledge of languages is necessary if students want to spend some time in other European countries, thus the advantage of taking an IGCSE exam in that language during their school years.
