Practical Work
Practical work is an integral part of the Biology curriculum for all Year Groups.
Practical work helps the pupils understand what is being taught rather than just memorise facts.
IGCSE, AS and A2 pupils are examined in practical work through written alternative exams.
At AS and A2, pupils have fixed, weekly practical sessions in the Biology laboratories.
In Years 6 and 7 pupils are expected to attend the ecology field trip organised by the Department.
The health and safety of the pupils is the responsibility of the teacher taking the lesson. All teachers are reminded of the importance of safety, particularly when dealing with potentially hazardous or toxic reagents.
